How to watch Chelsea vs. Palmeiras Club World Cup game

The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup was expanded in part to create matchups exactly like Friday’s quarterfinal between English power Chelsea and one of Brazil’s biggest clubs, Palmeiras.

Chelsea was heavily favored to win Group D, but a 3-1 upset loss to Flamengo – who sit just two points ahead of Palmeiras in the Brazilian league standings – dropped them to second place. The Blues overcame a last-second equalizer from Benfica in the round of 16, scoring three times in extra time to claim a 4-1 victory to earn a place in this match.

Palmeiras came out on top in one of the tightest groups of the tournament, with a dramatic late comeback against Inter Miami securing the top spot. In the round of 16, they took on a domestic rival in Botafogo, going to extra time before Paulinho pounced for the game’s only goal to set the Verdão up with this big test in Philadelphia.
